Thorfire WF-502B 500 Lumens Torch Review

Well People its all Hallows eve tonight, the time that
Ghosties and Ghoulies and long legged beasties and things that go bump in the night, roam around waiting to scare the Bejesus out of you.
So what better way of seeing who or what is lurking in the dark, I bring you my weapon of choice, it may not banish them from this mortal coil but it will hurt there eyes.
I give you the Thorfire torch.

This little marvel of engineering is crafted from Aircraft grade Aluminum and for its size it is very sturdy and weighty at 110 Grams not including battery, it will and has received quite a few drops and is still going very strong.

It came in a standard corrugated brown box with bubble wrap inside for protection and a set of instructions explaining the 3 different light modes.

The instructions tell you that you will need a 3.7V 18650 Battery (not included), how to fit and that by pressing the tail switch on/off button once you will get full beam but a second quick tap will reduce the intensity and one more quick tap it will be at the lowest brightness, great if you are far from your destination and you need the power to last longer.
I have bought (online) a rechargeable battery and charger very cheap and on full beam I am finding that the torch lasts about half an hour, before recharging.

On the lowest setting it is about three quarters of an hour, but this is all down to the quality of the battery, pay more for the battery and you should get longer usage.

The tail on/off switch, easy to press even with gloves on.

The head of the Thorfire has what is commonly called a glass breaker built in, this also allows the torch to stand face side down without scratching the High-efficiency reflection lens.

Showing the reflective surround that houses the 500 Lumens Cree bulb.
The Body of the torch has a lightly engraved grip to it making it very comfy to hold even for long periods of time.

This is small enough to keep in your purse, bag, pocket or even as an emergency torch in the dashboard, it also has a Very rugged belt clip for convenience. It is a good size for Male or Female hands and feels like it will last through a Zombie breakout, so if your a prepper, a bit like me, get a few and stick them around the house, You just never know!

When taking pictures of lights, it is very subjective as how the camera wants to pick up the focus of the beam and these pictures really dont do the Torch the credit it deserves, this was in a pitch black room and it has a very sharp, crisp beam.

Outside the beam can get slightly defused at the extremity, but that has to be a trade off for pinpoint beam and for a single Cree bulb I think thats fantastic.

There are rubber seals to keep out moisture but it's not being sold as an under water light source so Im going with shower proof.

Dimensions are :
The length is 13.7 cm
Head diameter is 3.4 cm
Body diameter is 2.5 cm

Pros
  • Well constructed.
  • Very bright.
  • Dimming functions.
  • Belt clip.
  • Window breaker.
  • Comfortable to hold.

Cons
  • None really, just trade off, of softer light on the far edges.
  • Maybe a battery, but then the price would be higher.

You can buy yours from Here
$19.99

Have a happy Halloween everyone.

All my thanks go to the lovely people at Eachine.com, for kindly sending me this Thorfire torch to share with you all, for an unbiased review.
All my views and opinions are my own.

DreamScience Brainwave-orientated Sleep Companion by Oregon Scientific #Review

Today being Wednesday 21/10/2015 is Back To The Future day, 30 years on from 1985, people, so I wanted to bring you something that Doc Brown or Marty McFly would possibly have predicted if they hadn't spent so much time talking about the FLUX Capacitor and eating re-hydrated pizza.

How many of you have problems getting to sleep at night or struggle to wake-up in the morning? Do you feel like you've had refreshing sleep? I would expect many of you will say no to these questions; myself included. Its a proven medical fact that lack of sleep can result in stress and so many health problems.

I was so pleased to have the opportunity to bring you guys this "brain-wave" oriented sleep companion.

Now, Oregon Scientific have been going since the 80's when I actually had a calculator for school, since then they have come a long way.
They believe in smart living-embracing innovations that help you live smarter, so you can be happier, healthier and more productive.

This is no ordinary relaxation sound clock they are combining two clinically proven technologies that help lull you into a deeper sleep and wake you naturally with patented "sleep enhancement Technology". Clinically proven Brainwave embedded sounds and with 6 colour mood lighting; which soothes your mind unconsciously using natural brainwaves and mood lighting for a more restful satisfying sleep.
Seems too good to be true, if so read on to see how I got on using my very own techy sleep companion.

Having reviewed the OS Prysma projection clock back in January, I knew I was dealing with excellent quality high end products.

I have the worst sleep pattern ever, one minute Im a night owl, the next Im asleep during the day and I never seen to be able to get what I would call "A restful satisfying sleep". I do suffer with ME/CFS so it does go a bit deeper than that; so Im open to try anything to help me get a good nights sleep.

Let me explain the basics of the beautiful techy alarm clock and Ill then explain more about the brainwave technology as this is the key to this clever little machine.

Packaging
I know you think I bang in about the packaging, but I take the view if a company has taken the effort to impress before you even get to the product its going to be generally good and Oregon Scientific are no exception.
You can see in the above image the box is white with great product photography and basic explanation of the Brain wave technology to get you to take it out the box as fast as possible.

Then in the bottom right-hand corner you can see a
"Open Here".

This then opens up with a velcro door to more thorough explanations and beautiful designs.

Just these restful images make you feel nice.

Another design I love is when a company uses outer sleeves and you can see here you have a box in a box; showing elegance and expense.

In the box you get your Oregon Scientific sleep companion, the in-depth user manual, mains USB cable, auxillary cable and guarantee.

Measurements; 180.4 x 64.7 x 164mm / 7.10 x 2.55 x 6.46 inches.
Weight; 450 grams.

Description
This "Oh so clever" sleep companion offers you some of the very latest electronics to help you feel your best during the day. Its technically an alarm clock which helps you naturally get to sleep and then awaken feeling refreshed and ready for your day using the latest clinically tested sonic technology and "Brainwaves".

The main features are;
  • It produces sounds clinically proven by world renowned Doctors to be therapeutic.
  • Patented Sleep Enhancement Technology lulls you to sleep by gradually slowing the rhythm of playback.
  • Includes 20 authentic high fidelity soundscapes...no not Hi Fidelity for those old enough to remember that film.
  • Back-light offers 6 colour mood settings.
  • LCD display shows time and sound track.
  • Timer for continuous play, 30, 60, 90 minute playback.
  • Alarm clock.
  • Includes auxillary cable to use with other music devices.
  • Powered by 4 x AA batteries or a 5V AC/DC adapter included.
So this beautifully stylish sleep machine designed in a glossy piano black that stands approx 8 inches in diameter will turn any room into a chic relaxing spa and retreat (But just to be sure, close your eyes so that you cant see the mountain of clothes in the corner waiting to be ironed.)

The DreamScience offers you two ways of powering it, you can use 4 x AA batteries or by the mains. The back panel slides off to reveal the battery area, the mains power port, an auxillary port and mini slide out panel for the CR2 button battery to power the clock. This is so well designed.

Zoomed in you can see the CR2032 battery compartment.

This pulls out to reveal a tiny drawer cradle thingy to slot in the battery supplied...cool...huh! Dont worry if your not sure which way to pop it in it has a big + embossed ontop..see pik1. This of course saves your time whether your using mains or not.
NOTE; never hold this battery between your thumb and forefinger flat on, always hold carefully at the edges as this can drain button batteries quickly.

You also have the option which I mentioned earlier to just use mains if your near enough to a plug.
You can also use the supplied Auxillary cable to connect other media sources to wake up to.

On top of the Dream Science you have 5 neat well blended in buttons.
left to right you have.
  1. Sleep Timer; just press to turn on/off.
  2. Alarm set Press to turn on/off.
  3. Sleep Enhance button..which Ill explain in a minute.
  4. Sound to turn on/off and allows you to set your chosen sound.
  5. Lighting button, this allows you to choose the colour mood light or random colors.
I cannot stress how nice these feel, such excellent quality and super responsive.

On the side of the Dream Science is a good quality rubber scroll wheel, which allows you to scroll through both the sounds and light colours to find your favorite.
Then you simply press to confirm your choice; how easy is that?
Again its super smooth and responsive.

Dr Lee R Bartel the man behind this amazing sleep companion!

Clinically proven Brainwave Embedded Sounds.
Dr Lee R Bartel is Associate Dean of research, Professor of Music education and Music health and founding and acting Director of music health research Collaboratory (MaHRC) at University of Toronto.
His research in music and medicine includes the rehabilitation of attention deficits, audiology and stress management.

Dr  Lee R Bartel has composed some of these DreamScience sounds which are "clinically proven" to work. They have brainwaves embedded into them. Dont ask me what brainwaves sound like as you can't physically hear them, but your brain can and will respond accordingly to wake-up or slow down and go to sleep.

He has composed 3 specific sleep sounds and 4 specific wake-up sounds; these work as he has built in brainwave "entrainment" at specified frequencies.
To help you know which ones are which; the "wake-up" sounds have a White Back-light and the Sleep sounds have a Blue back-light...this...is...just...genius!

Entrainment for those that dont know and I certainly didn't know what it meant... "The practice of entraining ones brain to a desired frequency". By Wiki.
  • Delta waves - are associated with the deepest levels of physical relaxation.
  • Alpha waves - Indicate an alert state with a quiet mind.
  • Beta waves - are associated with normal waking states.
DreamScience envelops you in a calming buffer of sound programmed and clinically proven to help you gently fall asleep, stay asleep, and reach deeper, more restful levels of sleep.
This is so we can gain a fulfilling and refreshing sleep through sonic science.

Sleep Enhancement Setting
But thats not all, this clever sleep companion also has an extra plus up its sleeve; the "Sleep Enhancement" button, when pressed, the screen flashes up SE for approx 5 seconds saying its on....

This creates a therapeutic state of relaxation by providing us with soothing ambient sounds, which...here's the clever bit....gradually reduce in volume and slow in rhythm- this has been "scientifically Proven" to calm the body and mind. Im amazed this hasn't been thought of before its such a simple idea and yet really does work, Im so impressed.

So to explain the chosen sound eg; Ocean surf (my Favorite) will sound longer and longer as the speed playback is digitally slowed down until it reaches almost half its speed where it stays the same until its turned off or the timer turns it off.
I know some of you may feel its a bit gimicky but I can promise you its not, it really works!!! Coming from someone with long-term sleep problems.

Setting it up
I was really surprised how easy it is to set up considering the amount of options you have with this machine. Having that scroll wheel at the side makes it easy to set and you can even press it without having to pick the machine up.
Pop in the small button battery into the back to keep the time saved for whatever power method you decide; batteries or mains powered.
When you first power up the Dream Science the first thing you do is set the time as you can see above.

Next the fun bit choosing the alarm sound, I scrolled through and listened to each of the 20 sounds and I have to say its so hard to choose one, some are most definitely to go to sleep with than wakeup but that too is personal choice.
I loved the sea as they have added bird sounds too, you have rain, thunder, summer night but my ultimate favorite is the Jungle which has a bit of wind, leaves rustling and bird sounds. I also enjoy listening to waves and the rain or thunder, but for me I prefer those to go to sleep on. After choosing your sound you can decide on the volume level using the scroll wheel again and a quick click confirms it. Another brilliant idea as some sounds are really quiet and I personally may not hear them to wake me up.

So I have recorded all the sounds on my main video, let me know which is your favorite.
                  Video will be up soon.

The Alarm
To turn off the alarm-clock simply press or scroll the wheel and it will snooze for 8 minutes. Press the clock button on the top it will turn off.
If you snooze 3 times it will turn off till the next day. This could be dangerous for me as I have so many snoozes before crawling outa my pit, lol.

Sleep Timer
So you've chosen your music to go to sleep; the next step is to pick 30/60/ or 90 minute timer to go to sleep on, you dont want to have to wakeup to turn it off do you.
Improvements
Some of my reviews I can see small changes that could really improve an already great product and with this gorgeous DreamScience I feel the mood lights could be improved by gradually dimming when you use the Sleep enhancement setting. So as the sound track stretches and the volume lowers, the light could dim too; now this would really make you sleepy. It could even have a similar light as you wake too.

Moodlights
This has to be the most prettiest section of this amazing clock and adds so much to the atmosphere, turning your bedroom or lounge into a mini spa its gorgeous. Press the sun sign to go into light mode and either scroll through each colour until you find your favorite and click the scroll wheel to set or set it on "Loop" which I love as its so soothing and relaxing by itself to watch it slowly and methodically change colour; its stunning checkout the GIF above which is speeded up just to show you the colours. Plus my video to see the true effect.

This pink to purple is my personal favorite to go to sleep on but if its too bright you can just turn the lighting off.

Did it work?
So Im sure you are all wondering if it actually works and I can say hell yes!!
I awoke gently to my Jungle choice and I can honestly say I woke up feeling slighty more alert...wow..it really does work.
Disclaimer: I have to add a small disclaimer in the fact that I do suffer with ME/CFS and have had sleep problems for over 25 years. which is why I just couldn't wait to try this as it could actually change my life...yes if I could get a normal sleep pattern I feel it really would help!

If your a healthy person but suffers with everyday stresses Im sure this will work so much faster for you. I do have many other symptoms which keep me awake so it can be a bit hit and miss sometimes; but Ive definitely noticed a difference with some days that Ive felt slightly more awake and the same at night where Ive drifted into a deeper sleep than usual; so I'm really excited about this sleep Companion as I think its working...shushh I dont want to scare it....Ive everything crossed this will continue to improve for me.
I do feel very confident it will work for so many of you out there; especially those of you with Attention deficit disorders maybe those with kids which have autism and similar disorders...it has to be worth a try as it will keep them calmer  especially on waking and going to sleep if they have had a bad day. As an ex-nurse Ive seen alot of success with colour therapy with both kids and adults with many illnesses physically and mentally. It can help with depression, anxiety and stress.
I can see this working with so many people, kids and whole families who just simply want a state of deeper relaxation. It really does work people...Im so impressed!

Pro's
  • Sleek and elegant design.
  • 20 sounds to choose from.
  • Sleep Enhancement technology.
  • Clinically Proven.
  • Easy to set.
  • So relaxing.
Con's
  • The slim base means it could topple over if you knock it; maybe needs a more balanced footprint.

Rebelite Xtreme Xflyer RC Stunt Quadcopter with 6 axis of control & 360 degree flips Review.

I have what I can only describe as TomCat Feelings for the product I am bringing you today guys. yep even as a girl Im seriously in love with this. It's something quite different and if you are a radio-controlled enthusiasts then go grab a coffee and bikky and keep reading.
I know the girls arn't meant to enjoy playing with these but I have to say wow its so much fun and something that both my other half and I have used almost every day, both day and night!
So today I'm bringing you one of the best "Quadcoptors" Ive ever tried.
If I can do this and have an absolute blast so can you!
Rebelite kindly sent me a few of their newest products and I just cant wait to show you this Xflyer stunt Quadcopter.

So lets get on with my review, I have added a full video review too so if you dont want to read my rambling feel free to scroll down and listen to my rambling ;-)

Rebelite kindly sent me a few more things to show you guys but today Im showing you the XFlyer Quadcoptor for today WooHoo!

I had my doubts about being able to fly this myself as in the past I have been awful at flying planes and helicopters and as my other half had quite expensive planes I didn't dare try to fly them just incase I reduced them to plastic pieces. So I was sooo excited to have the chance to fly one of these.

Packaging
The packaging arrived all the way across the pond with no dents or damage. The Xtreme Xflyer has a fab box and gives you loads of info so you just want to get it out the box and into the air. (My video shows the full box opening and first thoughts.)

Inside the box you get your Xflyer and battery, handset and spare rotors, screwdriver, plus your instruction manual.
It also comes with feet or stabilizers this enables easier take off and landing.

Description
This stunning looking Xflyer Quadcopter is made of ABS plastic which I have to say on getting this out the box is so light but a fantastic fun size. Nothing worse than ordering a remote control model and receiving something barely the size of your hand.
The Xflyer measures 39cm in diameter and sits 9cm high on its stabilizers.
Its also 2.4GHZ meaning its perfect for flying outside it has the power to fly in a breeze, but it also flies fine indoors too although I would say you need a larger room for that.

It has 4 small motors in each arm which are covered by the frame, extending out from each arm is the rotor guards and by god do these protect it. I have lost count the amount of times we have landed in a tree or bush and so far it seems bomb proof; the fact its so light if it hits something hard like the ground it has a tendency to bounce across the surface checkout my full video. Ive shown you my good and bad flying skills lol.

The rotors come in 2 white and 2 black this is so you can see which is the front of the Quadcoptor, the black is forward and give you the direction to fly in, two are made to rotate clockwise and the other two anticlockwise, so dont think you can mix and match.

The underside of each rotor has plastic cogs powered from the motor and the 3 LED's on the arm.

The Xflyer is powered by a 600 mah Li-Polymer battery which is supplied; but weve been using this so much we bought a spare battery to have double the fun. You can see the connector just presses into the port as seen below.

These slot into the underside of the Xflyer.

The Handset
Next the handset, this on first thoughts felt plasticky and a bit cheap; however after using and flying the Quadcoptor for a few weeks it really is solid construction despite being thick white plastic, you can use it with wet or cold hands, drop it a few times leave it on damp dewey ground and its been absolutely fine. So I take back my first thoughts.

It has a 2 inch transmitting antenna, 2 top buttons for LED's and stunts, 2 thumb  controllers, the first is the throttle up and down, spin left and right, the second on the right hand side is to fly forwards backwards strafe left and strafe right.

The two buttons you can see on the logo panel are camera controls if we were to add one at a later date.

It uses 4 penlight batteries (not supplied) which haven't been changed yet and still using it 2-3 times daily for 2 weeks...and still going.

You have 2 fine-tuning buttons if its over compensating left right, these too are responsive and easy to correct your Xflyer. So in the hands of a clumsy rough handling child or adult it will be fine.

The controllers at first glance felt plasticky but after using it you realize how responsive and smooth they are, the stippled bits at the top make it so easy to control with your thumb tips...brilliant!

Then sitting at perfect index finger position at the end are the flip and LED buttons. They do feel a little clunky but they are responsive and hard wearing as they will take a hammering if you are anything like us..lol.

My only niggle and its a minor one is for the handset is the base has plastic feet but it doesn't stand if you put it down. Plus we've both said it would be easier to have a neck strap so you dont have to put it on the ground when you have to fiddle with the Quadcopter especially at night, its easy to lose it. A neck strap or moulded holes to add your own would make this much easier.

Now what makes this Xflyer even more stable and even a bit bouncy is the stabilizers which snap in underneath, it just keeps the Quadcoptor off the ground out the grass and dirt and makes landings so much smoother.

 Inflight

Flying the Xflyer
Oh my goodness where do I start what a fun piece of kit for both of us. Its so easy to learn to fly this, if I can do it anyone can. Its absolutely perfect for a beginner like me. My other half has flown remote controlled models for years but even he had fun as it was so easy to fly as well as specialized stunts.

To start flying plug the Xflyers battery in, set it down on some flat ground, turn the handset on (slider button) the quad copters lights will then change mode colors you then bring the left controller stick backwards to pair the handset with Xflyer then your set to go. Simply pushing the left controller forward slowly it lifts up and down with complete smooth control. I was amazed I was just able to do this on my very first go, they are super sensitive and really responsive to the controls.
In the past Ive had a go at remote controlled planes helicopters and been terrified of crashing and breaking super expensive toys. But this affordable Quadcoptor is not only super easy to learn to fly but the stunts and flips are at the touch of a button.

Plus while your learning or if you get over confident and crash land in a tree or bush or the ground its protected by the springy rotor guards on the edges.
Weve even got it stuck in a tree over 30 foot up and had to knock it out...no probs it was undamaged.

Flying range
The Xflyer has a range of 300 feet/100m from the handset and its so easy to get carried away and fly out of that range either distance or height we've done both and it will just slowly drop so it doesn't go any further...my video shows this happening to me on one of my first night flights. Luckily the coloured flashing LED's make it a doddle to find and soo much fun to fly at night.
The Xflyer still has near perfect maneuverability even at 300 feet, just dont go a cm over lol.

Stunts
This incredible Xflyer looks amazing to flip and spin and its super easy to do, its literally at the touch of a button and my proudest moment is when I flipped it 13 1/2..yes I did say...a...half...it all counts...wow...so proud...see my video, yep I have proof, how else would you believe me lol.
The LED's on the arms make it look even more impressive and it wont be long till you have the knack of flips, spins and swoops within a few flights.
Its does 360 degree flips with 6 axis of control fast, smooth and super responsive.
It will flip forwards, backwards, left and right depending on the direction you flick the right control lever after pressing the flip button.
It even flips from hovering an inch above the ground, but I found this out after I published the video, so you'll have to take my word for it. Another fun move is that you can hand launch or even frisby fling it straight into the air then immediately using the handset! This looks pretty cool!

In this video Im showing you the unboxing, stunts, day and night flying...oh and maybe a few mishaps; hey we all have them but this Xflyer is bombproof and is still going strong.

The best way to show you the gorgeous colours; if you haven't seen my video is by this GIF we've made.
the purply color shows the direction that is forward.

LED's
What makes this Quadcopter extra fun is the fact you can fly it at night as its visible with the colorful LED's, there are only 3 on each of the 4 arms but flashing together it looks alot more. Surprisingly we've not noticed any loss of battery flying time having them on or off.

Nightime flying
This is our favorite times to fly the Xflyer as the colours make it stunning and super UFO-like...how we haven't had the government round I'm not sure as its amazing.
Youtube alien abduction videos are sure to be on the increase.

The LED's are not just for good looks its also to tell you when your battery is running low, they turn to flashing red (above) and you have about a minute left to fly it back to you...again see my video...!

Battery time
The box and manual say you have 10 minutes battery time, whereas actually weve been getting between 12 to 15 minutes depending on our flight and landings and what the LED's are doing etc.
It only takes about 30 minutes to charge, the usb glows red when plugged in and is fully charged. we have had it on charge permanently since it arrived lol, we also bought another battery an 800 mah, same size but will extend our fun. I know we are big kids but why not its so much fun.

Advice
It can be easily controlled in smaller spaces and gardens but you need to be aware of any surrounding trees as Ive said before as if your anything like us you push the Xflyer to see what it can do; how high etc and suddenly....oops its flashing at the top of your tree...keep a broom handy or long rope with something heavy to throw over a nearby branch to wobble it gently out the branches.

Trees and bushes are a relatively soft landing for the Xflyer not causing many problems, but the propeller guards can get caught in the branches, on the other hand a broom handle slips through one and you can loop it out like "Hook a duck"! ....2 lots of fun in 1.

So its definitely better to find a more wide open space; not an enclosed garden if you can. We are lucky enough to have a field nearby with no cattle etc and the wide open space is just perfect and easy to see if lands in lowcut grass.

NOTE: Whatever you do DO NOT fly at the beach or you WILL kill off your Xflyer if it accidentally lands in the sea then there's no going back. Also the sand will play havoc with the tiny cogs inside, just keep to grass, parks etc and you'll keep your Xflyer well maintained.
Grass is perfect although the rotors can still get tangled if its flown through long grass; just use your noddle you know what I mean...

Maintaining the Xflyer
I have to stress this Xflyer is NOT really a kids toy and you do need to be prepared to do a little bit of TLC to it every now to keep it in the air. You have spare rotors and a screwdriver in the box, thats the main hint.

When taken apart (26 screws)to remove sand or dirt, the Quadcoptor is divided into 2 main parts the receiver board with light strips on the base and the top protector grid on the top. You can see the simple wire board its made up with.

The arms have small motors to work the rotor at the end, but these also have the tiny cogs which we have had some sandy problems with.

If you look closely (click the image) you will see somehow I managed to take a chunk out of this cog, making the rotor slow right down; leading to the Xflyer having a mind of its own in the air.
So it needed to be replaced only £1 and you can find cheap spares online its worth it, we are now alot more careful with it and have stopped flying and landing on sandy soil. Weve since had no problems whatsoever!

If you look closely I even managed to get a bit of bramble stuck inside and again once removed it was fine.

If there had been a thin cover over the motor and cog area in the top picture, it would be harder for debris to get in.

NOTE: I do need to say however we really have flown the poor thing hard for this review so its done amazingly well considering and with NO problems since.

Item not to scale; cows not Included!
Animation fun!

Legalities
In the UK and the US we now have legal restrictions on flying quads and drones, in the UK we have to make sure we dont fly higher than 400 feet, luckily as you see in my video the Xflyer powers down at 300ft and comes in for a landing, not always in a place of your choosing.

Opinion
Wow what a fun piece of kit yes even for the girls as I love it as much as my other half, we have actually had so much fun flying this together as a couple with friendly competition on flips and swoops etc "I WON", its been on permanent charge since it arrived. We even got an extra battery and some spare cogs to gain extra flying time.
Its fast to charge and you get upto 15 mins in the air if you want to; but the fact its easy to learn and to fly means you have more time in the air and you can make the stunts look easy; if your anything like us you get a real buzz doing successful complicated looking stunts and I cannot stress enough how easy it is to get the knack of and if I can do it anyone can...no really...!
We also pushed this baby to the max for you guys, to see just how resilient the stabilizers and rotor guards were and they are fantastic as because they have a bit of spring to them makes it more flexible rather than brittle; Xtreme really have thought it out.
Its an affordable gift for anyone who loves their  remote control flying models and as an extra gift for someone who loves the outdoors too.

It does need to be maintained to keep rotors and cogs clean from sand, soil, grass etc as Ive seen some reviews where people have dissed it immediately and believe me this Xflyer really can take the knocks and bumps with no breaks at all, but can be disabled with a grain of sand not the Xflyer's fault it just the nature of the beast.
Honestly this is sooo much fun and it gets people out in the fresh air too, so many people stay inside on PC's tablets or phones this will get you out with your other half having some good old fashioned outdoor fun.

Pro's
  • Solidly built.
  • Fast learning curve.
  • Easy to learn complicated stunts.
  • Beautiful flashing LED's
  • Red LED's warning low battery is genius to bring it back.
  • Well built handset.
  • Rechargeable.
  • Responsive controller.
  • Responsive trims adjustment.
  • Spare rotors.
  • Screwdriver,

Con's
  • The cogs and motor could do with a cover to protect from soil and sand grains.
  • Could do with a few spare cogs too.
