VicTsing Dimmable LED Desk Lamp with Touch Sensitive Controls Review

Here is something that most of us would probably find useful and I had been looking for a good touch sensitive lamp for awhile.
This black elegant lamp has a super bendy silicon rubber gooseneck and the LED light has 3 impressive brightness settings.

But dont take my word for it checkout my box opening and full review on my video below.

I have added a full video unboxing and 1st impressions of this gorgeous lamp so you get to see for yourself how bright it is.

Its amazing how often we use extra lamps around our home, but finding a bright lamp that doesn't cause eyestrain is another matter. I suffer from migraines so its vital I have the correct bulbs in the lamps that dont flicker or ghost.

So I was excited to see that this elegant looking lamp from VicTsing has
"Eye protection"!

Packaging
The large lamp has a wonderful substantial weight on removing this from the box, it feels excellent quality from the minute you get it out the box; something I really wasn't expecting for such an affordable lamp.

In the box you get your beautiful black glossy ABS plastic lamp. You get a silky cleaning cloth for those pesky fingerprints, power cable plus user guide.

Description
This elegant lamp is made of top-grade ABS plastic with metal at the base for stability. This is the substantial weight you feel as soon  as you pick it up.

The gooseneck is made of smooth soft silicon rubber so you can twist and bend it to its full 360 degree angle to aim your light anywhere you wish.

The single bulb is 4Watts and has a LG chip for a long lifespan of upto 50,000 hours. It is also energy saving and consumes 75% less energy than an incandescent bulb of the same brightness.
Its a soft, flicker free 5000k daylight bulb makes it ideal on the eyes preventing eye strain and fatigue. Perfect for reading, work or study.

This is the top part of the bendy head and has these holes for design, I feel this is unnecessary but still adds to a nice design.

This metal base has matching piano glossy finish to the bendy head. Both attracts fingerprints like a magnet...but VicTsing have thought of everything and added the blue polishing cloth to keep it all shiny and new.
Here you also have your touch sensitive on/off mode button, no more clicky buttons.

At the back you have the power cable port.

The base has 4 felt pads to prevent scratched table tops.

Measurements
Total height 19 inches.
Base plate diameter is 4.5 inches.
The metal upright part is 6 inches and then it goes into 7.5 inches of bendy gooseneck.

This amazing soft touch silicon rubberized neck is super bendy to any position; however the first 6 inches from the base is I believe a metal tube as this keeps the whole lamp perfectly stable, it really feels safe no matter where you position the neck. I love this.
The head swivels 360 degrees too so you can aim the beam anywhere you wish.

Lamp in use
This larger sized lamp is stable and the power cable plugs in to the back port and lays neatly down the back of a bedside table etc.
The neck extends out to ...a distance so allowing you plenty of room underneath the light without the large flat base getting in the way like other lamps; ideal for arts and crafts where you need alot of space.

The LED light shines evenly across a wider space of the table being a circular lamp rather than a horizontal lamp.
This is perfect for crafts etc.

You have 3 lamp brightnesses
  • Low 15%,
  • Medium 52%
  • High 100%,
All 3 of these are really bright in there own right; but dont take my word for it checkout my video and see for yourself to make up your own mind.

I absolutely love this lamp, the black glossy finish is elegant and will look gorgeous in any setting. the light is bright enough for all my art and coloring as well as using it to add light to photograph my products.
The 5000k daylight bulb gives a natural hue rather than the yellowy incandescent lighting. Therefore it is so gentle on your eyes preventing eyestrain etc.

Plus the fact the LG chip saves energy therefore your pennies too; I love this lamp but do go checkout my video so you can see for yourself.

Thanks for popping by and I will see you all very soon for the next review.

£25.99

Thanks again to VicTsing for kindly sending this beautiful lamp to share with you all. All my views and opinions are my own and my images are mine unless otherwise stated.

Are you just plain bored with your plain keyboard?

Rekindle your Keyboard love

There are several different ways to jazz up that old computer you have. When it was new and shiny you may have given it a nickname cos it was fast it was cool and you were so proud; it sat where you could give it admiring glances, polish it so it shone like the technology of tomorrow and you loved showing it off to all your wide eyed envious friends.

As time went by maybe you weren't so attentive, you stopped wiping its discolored fascia or blowing the dust of the do-dars inside; then one day you may have relocated it under your desk, just temporarily you tell yourself but really its so as not to draw to much attention to thing like the 3.5" floppy drive, the coffee cup stain on the top or that beige is not such a fun color for a computer anymore...has the love really gone.

What can you do to rekindle the passion you once had for this box of bits.....let me tell you..........

You could -
    1. Format the HD and reload the operating system add updates+drivers+programs+passwords; curse when all your documents and music files that you have spent years collecting, disappear. This; if the PC gods are in a good mood should remove as much bloatware as possible and might even clear the virus's, continual crashes, blue screens and reboots if your lucky.
Cons- Time and do you really know where all the old software discs are.
      2. Overclock your old computer's CPU, memory and graphic card to within an inch of its life.
Cons- Takes time to learn the black arts and may shorten its already hard knock life.
        3. Remove your ageing platter disk and fit a new solid state drive, boy will it boot up quick and be a bit quieter; but please refer back to No1.
          4. Purchase a new faster processor "Oh...but...now you need a new motherboard...Oh...and new memory...Oh...and you can't fit the old Graphic card in the new Motherboard; cos it looks rubbish...Oh...AND IT'S STILL BEIGE!"
            5. You could head to your local PC shop with a large wad of cash be talked down to by a spotty teenager assistant and convinced to buy a new (old model) computer that the shop has been trying to shift for their new stock coming in the very next day, of course it will be pre-installed with bloatware and seriously overpriced, but at least then you could
do a nice thing and give your old computer to a friend or family member, they might like beige; it may go well with the cord trousers they are wearing.
Cons...You are still responsible for fixing it when it goes wrong... COS obviously it's your fault!!!

Now think what is the one item on your desk that takes a hammering most of the time, has more bacteria on it than a truck stop toilet seat and shows that you have been playing Call Of Duty waaaay to much.

To use an old analogy if your car needs to go faster just add go-faster stripes it will feel quicker.
I give you the go-faster peripheral for your computer...bring in the love. Drumroll....The keyboard and mouse!

VicTsing USB 3 slim External DVD-RW CD-RW Drive Burner and writer Review

Do you have important videos, photos, or documents you want to save onto a hard copy; not cloud or your PC... just incase they go down...well it can happen. We have had PC, SD cards and flash-drives fail and its heartbreaking if you have valuable files on there never to be seen again!!!
A DVD Burner will allow you to save your important media onto your own DVD or CD. Keep it for yourself or share it with the family, some of the most recent PC's dont come with a CD/DVD player built in, all in the name of going minimal.

I was kindly sent a CD/DVD burner and player to share with you all.
              See my in-depth review below.

Well people of the Interweb we do have a DVD burner to share with you guys and it came just at the right time as our last external DVD burner looked like it came from the Ark and was like having a brick on my desk also It had started making some horrible noises and would mostly just refuse to do anything, but ruin discs.

              Packaging
The CD/DVD burner arrives with simple basic packaging; very deceiving actually as the image on the front shows the white version which I feel doesn't do it justice, but the description on the rear says what color it is.

Inside you get your CD/DVD RW with its already attached USB.

I have to say Im so-verrely impressed as I love the fact you have the USB cable attached underneath in its own storage section, no losing or forgetting your cable now.

It neatly curls around its own indentation.

There is a little nook to slot the USB port into so it stays secure underneath while traveling or stored away till needed...super clever design and
also 4 little rubber feet for more security at the outer extremities.

The Textured finish has a modern feel with a brushed metal design on the top whereas in fact its plastic; but it looks elegant and way more expensive than it is.
Its also an anti-scratch finish, subjectively speaking.

I love the super slim design, it doesn't feel heavy in your hand but it does feel substantially solid and is compact not much larger than a CD case, ideal for traveling as it will simply slip alongside your laptop in your laptop bag; ready when you are to save your precious files.

               Underneath is all the spec.

The front drawer has the relevant information printed on the front.

              • CD-ROM: Max 24X CAV

                Use
This looks gorgeous with my laptop and is one of the main reasons I wanted to review this as my CD drive doesn't work properly and I had forgotten how much I missed playing DVDs or gaming CDs on it; let alone saving my images and videos.
You have to admit it will look classy and elegant on anyone's desk.

Its been awhile since we've successfully saved media onto a DVD or CD from the laptop and its quite refreshing to have a hard copy of our more important files.
The drawer opens smoothly and the CDs fit securely on the spindle.

One of the main things with this external DVD burner player and Re-writer is it doesn't need any external power supply, it receives it all from the USB.
Using Windows 7 after plugging it in a driver was found very quickly it really is simply plug and play and within seconds of putting in a CD/DVD you can watch or burn to disc.
The whole drawer comes out and the design uses the whole size of a CD, hardly anymore.

A green LED flashes to show you its accessing your disc.
The eject button next to the LED will only work when powered and attached to a PC or my laptop so you've no worries about it accidentally popping open in your bag or case
Note - There is always the emergency draw opening pinhole if needed.

We found once the DVD is inserted it comes up on the PC as
                Matshita-DVD-RAM USB device.
While spinning you can hear the unit, but its not annoying I actually prefer to hear it, I know its working its socks off for me. You dont need any particular burning software, we always used to use Nero. But now the DVD burner uses windows own software, sooooo easy.

The green LED stays on while burning to disk on both normal writing and re-writer.

Using the USB3 on my main system
We tested a normal write to DVD disc(one off record) and it took 4 minutes 50 for a 688MB file with a mix of image and video.
The Re-Writer DVD was faster with the same file 2 3/4 minutes. This seems strange that a re-writer is faster but I feel both were fast at saving my precious files.
I also had an old CD-R quite scratched that I found lurking at the back of the cupboard and at 4x record it took 10 minutes and 15 seconds for the same files, but the drive still did its job.

I feel everyone needs one of these if you have important files, and media, you have that hard copy and its so easy to simply plug into your USB and your away.

                Our vintage CD/DVD burner/player.
Out with the old and in with the new.
I just had to show you our last CD/DVD burner which is quite ancient and built like a brick, is as heavy as a brick, and so is its external 12v power supply, just look at the size comparison.
Obviously the VicTsing one is on the left...der!

You can really see the difference in size with both drawers out.
Here even the height difference shows, you can REALLY see just how compact this new one is.
Dontcha just love how technology improves!!!
Note - the instructions state best not to use an external hub or an extension cable but as its built in cable is only 8 inches long. I used a good quality shielded extension cable on my main system and the drive worked flawlessly, with no loss of data.

                Opinion
I absolutely love how elegant and modern this looks its going to look amazing on any desk. The slim size means it fits alongside my laptop in my laptop bag so I can take it anywhere.
I cant lose or forget my cable as its built in; this is just genius plus the added fact the cable fits so neatly in its own storage section underneath.
One of the main reasons this is so good is the fact you dont need a separate power supply, in the past we've had bulky power supplies and power cables so it really wasn't portable. Its refreshing to know this little unit can travel anywhere we go.
My laptop is USB 2 and it works perfectly with this The backwards compatibility makes this a unit usable for anyone with a PC/laptop USB port no matter what its age.

VicTsing Sakura Roof Prism 8 X 21 Mini Travel folding Binoculars Review

Something for the birdwatchers, hiking and camping enthusiasts today. Plus something I have used everyday since it arrived.
A Mini travel pair of Binoculars from VicTsing.

If you've been following me you would have noticed quite a few products from VicTsing as they have great quality and a huge variety of fun gadgety products for everyday life.

But as a bit of a birdwatcher today I have these adorable Sakura travel binoculars, main article and video 1st Impressions below....

Daisy and I took the binoculars out for a test drive in the woods today.
Well Daisy looks super cool in them doesn't she.

                Packaging
I love that these travel binoc's arrive in this little gold box.

The label on the side has some of the main details on, so they have made the effort to let us know more.
Inside the box you get a neat little carry case, user guide and a tiny lens cloth; I didn't expect that.

Then inside the case the adorable binoculars are folded up small, with a carry cord attached.

A nylon case comes with it so you have something to keep them in. Mine was thrown together with some wonky stitching; but it doesn't affect the case itself.

                Binoculars 101
So what do the measurements mean?
                Well all binoculars have two number measurements;
The first number the 8 in this case refers to the magnification; how many times closer your object will appear compared to the naked eye.
The second number; 21 indicates the diameter of the "light gathering lens", the objective lens (front lens) in millimeters.
The size of this lens will determine how much light the binocular can get for effective viewing. The higher the number, the larger the lens therefore the brighter the image. However larger lenses are heavy and more expensive so its finding your own balance.

These are also "roof prism" binoculars which means that the prisms inside overlap closely, allowing the objective lenses to line up directly with the eyepiece.
Resulting in a slim, streamlined shape offering an image which is magnified and in a straight line.
The other option is a "Porro Prism" system; where the objective lens is offset from the eyepiece, these offer greater depth of perception and a wider field of view; and therefore alot more expensive.

                  Description
These folding roof prism binoculars are genuinely perfect for outdoor recreations of all kinds from bird watching like me to sports and I have to say IDEAL for the festival season coming up if your at the back of a huge crowd.

These tiny binoc's close up really small and open up to almost double, so I feel they would fit most people easily. They open up really smoothly and defined, holding their position well plus they feel fab in your hand.

The adjustment wheel is smooth and feels great quality too. It sits comfortably on the bridge of the binoculars, these help with clarity.
There is a diopter adjustment for personal sharpness. You can see a + and -  its only on the right side, you use this after having focused with your left eye first.. I didn't expect this on such cheaper binoculars.

The lenses have a cushioned rubber for added comfort around your eyes while using them; the user guide suggests you can roll them down for eyeglass users however I found them too thick to roll down easily. But as an eyeglass wearer I was still able to use them.

The objective lenses have a bright orangey/red optic coating, this is for anti-glare, brightness and sharpness in lower light conditions.

Alot of the more of the expensive binoculars have these coatings; but its not expected on something this affordable. I found it works average in low light which is to be expected for its lens size.

The rubber is armored making them super rugged to be just thrown around in your bag or rucksack.

It also comes with a neck cord too. Let the cord hang out from the case and you can hang it up in its case too.

I love that you can pop them down anywhere and the armored rubber really protects them. Yes the rubber coating on the case does mark easily but it doesn't effect the quality of the optics.
They are even splash proof to a certain degree but dont drop them in a river or leave outside in the rain. You can pop them down in damp grass and not worry.

Checkout my video unboxing and 1st Impressions in the woods and our 1st Spring day woohoo!
Plus a little input from our Daisy.

Even Daisy looks good! She's huntin squirls!!!!

                   Opinion
I was pleasantly surprised with these and first impressions was just how small they are. Despite being so small they do have an excellent quality feel and lovely substantial weight in your hand. The armored rubber is super smooth and chunky in your hands and you know it will take a few knocks with no worries, the lenses also have rubber protection surrounding them.

They fold up really small and are ideal to throw into your rucksack or handbag, glove box etc. The fact you have a case and cleaning cloth too is just perfect.

As a bird watcher I found these great for bird spotting despite not being zoom binoculars, the fixed focus distance of 1000m gets you close immediately; if you want zoom binoc's you will probably be paying double or even quadruple. If your not sure whether you would like binoculars these are great to get the feel of. There is a knack to seeing through them and getting the image aligned, slightly open or close the barrels until the distance object becomes as one. As a glasses wearer I always take my glasses off anyway and then use the binoculars own focusing wheel to get my object in focus, but thats my choice.

I can highly recommend these adorable mini compact binoculars, I feel everyone would love to own a pair even if your not a bird watcher its purely human nature to be a bit nosey isn't it...go on admit it lol.
But if you love camping and sports or are off to some music festivals coming up soon; these will be invaluable for you. I wont be without mine now and these are the perfect size to just pop in your bag. Ive had expensive pairs before and they are so heavy to carry around; granted you do get the quality but I didnt tend to carry them around therefore missed so much. Go grab a pair of these they are so affordable and excellent quality for their size.
