VicTsing Homasy 22W Mini portable Whisper-quiet Dehumidifier Review

Do you have damp or mold in your home, office, garage etc? Then you need to get ontop of it for the sake of your own health. There are many methods to help with mold; including damp paint etc but this doesn't fix the problem or the damp in the air.
A dehumidifier will always be the answer initially to dry out the damp air and there are many on the market.

We have been using dehumidifiers for nearly 30 years and I only reviewed a Touchscreen larger version last week.

Today VicTsing kindly sent me a few things to show you all and that included a smaller "humi".
So I have added this full article and video review for you guys to help you choose which you prefer below.
Grab a coffee and bikky and have a listen or a read.

In the box you get your mini Homasy, a user guide and an electric 3 pin power plug.

The Homasy comes into 2 parts with a removable tray to catch the water its removed, this clever gadget will turn off when its full.

This water tray is transparent so you can see the amount of water its collecting on a daily basis, I actually like being able to see it out of interest.

Once full it auto stops and you simply pull it out and pull out the little black stopper seen above to drain out the water.

Another clever design is having a removable lid so you can wipe out any mold or dirt collected in the tray.

Built in above the unit is this bright red plastic holey top to expel the clean drier air back into your room.

The 9 volt adapter plugs directly into the base.

A clever design plan was to have the cable sitting in the middle gap of the tray so you can remove the tray without having to physically unplug your unit; however I would always unplug it for safety as you can never be too careful, but they had the right idea.

Specification:
  • Adapter output voltage: 9V DC/2.5 Amp
  • Power: 22W
  • Dehumidifying capacity: 220 ml a Day; Max:300 ml
  • Maximum area for dehumidifying: 20m2
  • Noise: 35dB
  • Usage temperature:15c to 35c
  • Size: 154 x130 x 218 mm

This Homasy Dehumidifier works with "Peltier technology"

So in as plain English as I can explain this; a Peltier junction is a semiconductor that get hot on one side and cold on the other when voltage is applied and current flows through it. So, it acts as a heat pump, or a thermoelectric cooler, moving heat (energy) from one side to the other. There’s no motors, pumps, fluid, oils, or gases involved, so it’s quite efficient. With only a fan to move air over the junction – it’s also very quiet, I should know as my water cooled PC uses one on the CPU.

Please feel free to google it as there are many explanations on the web!!

This little Homasy is made of ABS plastic with one very simple button and 1 mode it doesn't get any easier. Press it once and a blue LED lights up to say its on so simply walk away as once the little 260ml tray is full the blue LED will turn red and it will auto shut off making it extremely safe.
To empty simply remove the tray pull out the little black bung and pour it down the sink, pop the bung back in and away you go.
NOTE; Always unplug while dealing with the water to be safe.

If you would rather listen to my rambles grab a coffee and bikky and press play. I often prefer to see the product in real life than just piks so you have the choice.

Opinion
Im really impressed with yet again another great dehumidifier from VicTsing, this little portable Homasy is only 15.4 x 13.0 x 21.8 cm in size, making it ideal to pop on a windowsill, into a cupboard or wardrobe, garage etc.
Build wise I can say it does feel a little plasticky; but it thoroughly removes damp, mold, bacteria and mildew from the air quickly and quietly.
The user guide claims it removes 300mls of water a day, however this would only be possible if you emptied the 260ml water tank at least once a day which actually is possible when you see what this takes out the air!!!

I have to admit that after only a few hours it removed this amount of water from our dining room; so Im really impressed with this. It really is whisper quiet as you will see in my video I had to check it was actually running lol.

This little "humi" covers 22 square meters so can easily be a workhorse for all the rooms and cupboards in your home.
Its light compact and extremely portable to move around the home, we will be moving this from dining room to library to wardrobe throughout the year as our 400 year old cottage does suffer from some damp.
It naturally has a little bit of damp which we have kept ontop of with quite a large cronky 25 years old dehumidifier that we nicknamed, Humi .

I have found this little gadget really successful at removing the moisture quickly and quietly from our air. I absolutely recommend either this Homasy or the Touchscreen humi if you have any damp or mildew in your home, its something that cannot be left, purely for your own health.

Essence of Arcadia Luxury Diamond Shaped Glass Aroma-Diffuser & Essential Oils Gift Set Review.

Anyone who loves aromatherapy will know how good it is to find an unusual diffuser to the normal white plasticky styles.

I recently reviewed the 2 beautiful aromatherapy sets from Essence of Arcadia, so when I saw their new Diamond diffuser design I just had to share it with you all.

My first thought wasn't quite a diamond but a beautiful gold glass dragon egg...hey I know I've been watching way too many Game of Thrones lol!

But I love this unique design; take a peek at my chatty unboxing video and review or my full photo-loaded written post below; you have the choice to listen or read my ramblings.
See below!

You guys know I absolutely love good packaging, companies that make the effort on the outside you know are proud of whats inside.
Essence Of Arcadia go above and beyond.

This stunning large black box is made of hard cardboard with a gorgeous flop back lid to keep your diamond diffuser in when not in use. Its the same gorgeous black  boxes used for the essential oils I reviewed last year.
The writing is in gold and wow it will feel great to receive this as a gift.
The foam inside will hold each part of your diffuser safely.

So what do you get inside?

You get your gorgeous "Glass" Diamond diffuser.
Water filling cup.
White electric cable.
User guide.
Essential oil and recipe guide.

I absolutely love the Essential oils guide as it explains a little on each common essential oil with some recipes to try in the diffuser.

Plastic refilling cup with the measurements on the side. You need a maximum of 90mls.

Plus you also get the indepth user guide.

The diffuser comes apart into 3 pieces.

This is best seen in my video.

The lengthy plug plugs into the base of the diffuser, but dont worry about making it wobbly as the cable fits neatly between the feet so will still sit level.

I have to mention...no yell out...just how stunning this glass is; you have fine gold glitter underneath the shaped glass giving this gorgeous glistening effect...again this pik doesn't do it justice; it looks best in my video.
Ive enlarged this image so you can see it a bit better.

The glass nozzle has a plastic tip.

With your diffuser you also get 3 of the most popular aromatherapy oils; Tea tree, Lavender and Eucalyptus; so your ready to go the minute it arrives.

How it works
There is only 1 button on the diffuser nothing else and it couldn't be simpler to use; but its not just any button it also looks like a diamond to match the diffuser. It has a "crystally" look to it...high 5 Essence of Arcadia it looks gorgeous.
  • Turn it on once and it runs continuously for 2 hours.
  • Press it again and it turns blue and it runs intermittently - 10 seconds on and 20 seconds off and it will run for 4 hours.
Note: my only thing is being made of high quality glass it has a substantial weight and could possibly over-balance if knocked by children or pets.

Here is my chatty unboxing and review of this gorgeous Diamond Diffuser.

Opinion
First of all what a stunning kit to receive, if you want to give a special pressie to someone this has to be it. Stunning box, beautiful diffuser and 3 of the most loved essential oils all in a gorgeous strong magnetized box.
Plus it diffuses these oils so beautifully. The aromas are not heady and strong even when you pour more than 2-3 drops in the bowl.
It smells light and fresh and never too strong and believe me Ive tried, its just right. The mist is extremely fine and isn't too wet like some diffusers either.

I feel this diffuser's looks could be like marmite as it may not be everyone's taste but I LOVE this; just the fact it reminds me of a dragon egg is good enough for me.

Its also at the luxury higher price bracket of diffusers; but you genuinely get what you pay for. It has an excellent glass build and the mist is super fine but not overpowering; its very subtle. The fact you can leave it on for 4 hours every day is just brilliant, I do not need to use any other room spray or smelly.

The aromatherapy oils also relax or uplift you and the gorgeous glossy booklet explains each oil in detail, this helps me to decide which oil to use as Im not as experienced as some with essential oils; but Ive learn't so much already just from this extensive booklet.
Its design is very unique, elegant and certainly a great conversation piece....plus its got GOLD glitter in it...enough said!

VicTsing Mini Home Touchscreen Dehumidifier Video Review

No its not a evil demon bunny for Easter that will scare all the kids, its VicTsing's Home dehumidifier.
We often have damp in our homes at some point even if its in the garage or sheds, but some of us have much older cottages which struggle especially during the cold weather.

So we almost bit VicTsings hand off when they offered this cute little guy to review. I have added a full video review as well as photoloaded post so you get the choice which to look at below.....

The little dehumidifier arrived quickly and in a surprisingly large box; which had no specifications whatsoever on the outside. I personally prefer to read the basics about a product before opening the box; you can see my full box opening in my video.

In the box you get your VicTsing Home Dehumidifier...wow what a long name. Electric mains cable(mine came with a UK 3 pin plug), power box and manual.
The manual itself is mainly in Chinese writing but you get the basic details in English at the back...again see my video.

Description
This mini household appliance is a "touchscreen???" dehumidifier for your home, if you have any damp, mildew or mold this will remove the moisture from the air, making it a healthier place to live in. If you suffer from Asthma and allergies like me its an essential piece of kit.
We live in a beautiful 400 year old cottage and it naturally has a little bit of damp which we have kept ontop of with quite a large cronky 25 years old dehumidifier that we nicknamed, Humi . So we were really very pleased to have this chance to show you guys a new updated version.

This little guy measures 20 x 5.9 x 11.8 inches and I was quite surprised at how big this was, you can see my genuine surprise in the video.

 Design
This dehumidifier will have Humi's name passed down as Humi had to him and new "humi" has a fantastic cutey looking design, it actually looks like a cartoon rabbit of some sorts...or is that just me?
The ABS plastic is white and shiny making it easy to clean, its a good size for most homes as many units are way too small to do any good whatsoever; this is ideal for small spaces and middle sized rooms.

The humi sucks the air through the holes at the bottom and back of the unit....

Where its filtered and odour's and moisture are then removed by the carbon filters in the "spouts" of the humi.

Then clean, dry air is fanned back out into the room from both spouts.

The excess water is then stored in the removable tray at the base.

Touchscreen buttons
What makes this unit really great to use is the fact of its touchscreen*, you barely need to touch it and it responds.
*I have to say its NOT a screen its simply ABS plastic which works in the same way as a touchscreen. I would call it touch sensitive.
It has 2 main buttons, the first on the left is the on/off button, the second is the mode changer.

Press mode button once for sleep mode ideal for the bedroom.

Press it once more for normal mode.

Then once again for 3rd mode which is the strongest and you can really hear the fans crank up to full and turns this little humi into evil bunny mode with its red eyes.

Here are all 3 modes in the dark, super cool eh! You can faintly distinguish between 1st and 2nd mode; the blue led is much brighter on normal mode.

Watching, Waiting to steal your carrots.
This is what we were seeing every time we came into the dining room at night, sort of fun and creepy too; definitely evil bunny mode.

 Use
First of all I have to say if you have any mold or mildew in your home you need to get onto the actual problem of the mold, leaky roof, unsealed windows, get it checked out as it could effect your health as well as your home.
In the mean time if its a seasonal problem like us its sensible to get your hands on a dehumidifier which will electronically remove the excess water from the air.

Once you have removed the bottom tray to empty the water, you can see the two water tank cut-off switches.

You also get to see the ice frozen onto the fins before melting into the tray below.

Checkout my chatty video unboxing and review.

 Results
Well for my full results do checkout my video as you get to see this in action and the amount of water that it took out of the air....wow!

I was planning to use this in my wardrobe as its an open space under a roof's eave which can get a bit of mildew. However for this review I started it in our dinning room and boy was I surprised at the amount this little guy sucks out. It was full within 4 days...yep 4 days and thats alot of moisture to take out of the air (900mls), plus any air borne particles that can make you ill.

Ive shown him in shadow on my windowsill; as you can see the buttons lit up better.

This thing guzzles the water from the air; it really works and we have both noticed how much dryer the air has been in the room; yet this is meant for small spaces. So its staying where it is for now then we will move it around the cottage throughout the year.

My only niggle is that the cable drops out as soon as you move it; but luckily for me I dont move it that often.

The tray is easy to remove and empty plus easy to clean along with the spouts too. Its easy to use with the touch screen buttons, its whisper quiet and it guzzles the water from the air, its one thirsty evil bunny!

Pro's
  • Carbon filters to remove odours as well as moisture from the air.
  • Wipeable.
  • Removes a good amount of water a day.
  • Turns off when full.
  • Sleep mode.
  • Touch sensitive buttons....not really touchscreen.
  • Fashionably cute.
Con's
  • Cable not very secure when moved...but you generally dont move it alot.

You can purchase yours from Amazon.com
Since receiving this dehumidifier Amazon have stopped stocking it in the UK so here is another UK stockist.
